RSA Awarded New Student Housing Project at Angelo State University May 14, 2010 Congratulations to RSA for being selected as the Architect of Record for the New Student Housing Project at Angelo State University in San Angelo. This Multi-Building Project will encompass approximately 900 beds and 300,000 SF. Small Institutions Housing Conference May 25th and 26th May 14, 2010 RSA will be a featured speaker and major sponsor for this event located in Plano, TX. This is the 5th year for this conference and it targets 2-year colleges and small 4-year colleges in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas as the main focus. The colleges range from 100 beds to 1,300 beds in their on-campus housing system. Tyler Junior College Ornelas Residential Complex was recognized as an Outstanding Design for a Work in Progress (Ornelas Hall was not yet completed at the time of submission), while Tarleton State University Recreational Sports Facility was recognized as an Outstanding Design for a Specialized Facility. RSA Selected to Design Second Residence Hall at Angelo State University October 2008 After a formal presentation to the selection committee on September 8, Randall Scott Architects is honored to have been selected by the Texas Tech University System to design our second Residence Life project for Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. With the recently completed $23.5 million, 530-bed Centennial Village Residence Hall now up and running (named as such for being the first major project of the University's Centennial Master Plan), RSA will now embark on planning and design of the next phase of campus housing, to be called Plaza Verde Residence Hall. The project is scheduled to break ground in April of 2009 and be completed by August 2010. The demolition of the existing 10-story University Hall will make room for Plaza Verde's estimated 450 new beds. Plaza Verde will be designed to meet a minimum LEED Silver Certification. RSA's responsibilities on the multi-faceted project include design of a new Administration/Classroom Building and a new Vehicle Maintenance Shop. The Administration/Classroom Building will house administrative offices, three classrooms, a cafeteria and state-of-the-art driver training and firearms simulators. The Vehicle Maintenance shop will house a service area, parts storage and tow truck/emergency vehicle garage. Decatur Council Hires Architect to Design Fire Station Wise County Messenger June 2008 RSA Selected to Design New Central Fire Station for City of Decatur June 2008 Randall Scott Architects has been selected to design a New Central Fire Station for the City of Decatur, Texas. The replacement facility will include fire administration offices, an emergency operations center, training classroom, multipurpose conference room, four drive-through apparatus bays, bunk rooms for up to ten firefighters, commercial grade kitchen, dining room, day room, exercise room and support areas. RSA Selected to Design New Nursing & Allied Health Building for Tarleton State University April 2008 The Texas A&M University System recently commissioned Randall Scott Architects to design a new Nursing & Allied Health Building at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. The project is the second large-scale project RSA has designed for the Tarleton State campus within the past two years, with an award-winning Recreational Sports Facility completed in 2007.
