Approach

Collaborative Discovery

RSA begins each project by ascertaining as much information as possible as early as possible about the needs, wants and goals of the various groups and individuals who will ultimately live, work and RSA project teams work hand-in-hand with all stakeholder groups to clearly define requirements, desires, and objectives up front, and to minimize unforeseen challenges down the road.play in the environments we create. We respond to the discoveries we make by further defining the scope of the project and aligning the client’s vision with the project budget. Stakeholder Focus Groups, Interactive Design Charrettes and LEED/Sustainability Charrettes are integral parts of RSA’s programming and schematic design process because they require participation from all parties. Generally speaking, these are the most expeditious means of “consensus building” and obtaining “buy-in” from the key stakeholders on a project.

Put simply, the more we can discover in the beginning, the easier it is to minimize and quickly navigate any unforeseen challenges that may arise later, and the easier it is to influence the eventual cost of the project. In our more than 25 year history, RSA has rarely completed a project that went over budget, thanks largely to our proven cost estimating capabilities, but also due to the fact that we listen carefully to the client’s perspective, exchange ideas and share our design expertise from day one.
